Pick the route, then the day

Irvine’s open-space network includes places such as Quail Hill and Bommer Canyon. Consult the City’s open-space pages for current trail descriptions, access rules and any scheduled programs before choosing a route.

Respect the access rules

Different open-space areas can have different access requirements. Do not assume that every route is open without a reservation, at every hour, or to dogs and bicycles. Follow posted restrictions and stay on designated paths.

Make a comfortable plan

Bring water and sun protection, check weather and trail notices, and turn back when conditions or energy call for it. For exact accessibility, elevation or terrain questions, rely on the operator’s current route information.
